What Is Salvation?

Each year we want to more closely examine a core concept for youth ministry. Youth groups talk about salvation, but what is required when we teach it? What are the various views of salvation today, and how do they affect ministry practice? Are there non-negotiables for youth ministry leaders about what it means to be saved? Salvation is a theological topic we assume we know, but in reality, our concept of it may be underdeveloped. Using a fishbowl conversation as a jump-start, we’ll dig in and discuss this important topic. We’ll examine how we talk about salvation, how it shapes our communities, and how our ministries might change as we enrich our theological understanding of it.
