Dragons and Doctrine: Weaving Literary Greats into Youth Ministry Foundations

Great news for bibliophiles: Besides being influential and beloved authors, C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Dorothy Sayers, G. K. Chesterton, Madeleine L’Engle, and many others have important things to teach us about youth ministry foundations. Their books have been around for decades and are regarded as classics because of nine basic principles. By adapting and following these same principles (including “embrace doctrine” and “expect dragons”), your youth ministry can be long-lasting and firmly grounded. You may not win any literary awards, but you’ll most certainly impact the one kingdom that really matters. Come talk about books, Narnia, Middle Earth, the Hundred Acre Wood, tesseracts, adolescents, faith, and Jesus.
