Too many minority youth do not find a home when they walk through our ministry doors. Whether because of the color of their skin, sexual orientation, gender, or disability, many feel as if they don't belong. In response to this, they assimilate and lose their sense of self, or they stick around until graduation and then leave and never look back. How can we structure our organizations so all young people have role models they can identify with? How do we help these students imagine a future story in which they're honest about who they are and are also deeply connected to the church? In this workshop, we’ll explore practical changes we as leaders can make to create places where every student feels seen and celebrated as people made in the image of God with gifts to nourish the community.
