You Got Served: Incorporating Service-Learning Into Youth Ministry
What breaks your heart in the world? Do you and your youth desire to have a positive impact on the human condition? Youth ministries often encourage missions or some form of community service. What would it look like to not merely serve, but also to allow youth to brainstorm about issues in their community and around the world? What if they created, designed, implemented, and documented their own missions projects? What if they had a chance to learn the history and background of the conditions they seek to change? This seminar will explore the concept of service-learning and will take a look at how youth ministry can do church differently.
